Remembering A Pet's Unconditional Love

In Memory of Maggie - March 23, 1995 to September, 2005

Maggie's favourite places were fly ball tournaments and the beach.  She was a good dog and beloved companion for 10 years. In August, 2005, one month prior to her death, I had her out to a beach for a swim when I noticed she was in trouble and went in the water to get her. This only stalled her death, for a month later she was unable to walk. She was diagnosed with lumbral sacral disease, and she was not a candidate for surgery, due to her age. I had made the decision to have her euthanized. I was heartbroken and this was not a diagnosis I expected. I thought she was just getting old.  Maggie died in the caring arms of doctors Lisa and Andrew Thompson of the Miltonvale Clinic where she received nothing but the best care for many years.

A Tide inside your heart. Keeps rising in the dark. Surrounds you like the ocean. This time I can't keep you from going under somewhere in the deep. When all the empty words Won't take the hurt away When everything is broken All your wounds open I can't let you go in front of me I will find you again, where others fear to follow. You will be only half asleep waiting for me just as the day you left.  We will be together again.
