NEW The PEIHS has launched
a Senior for Senior program,

Mary Paterson and Georgia, a 7 year-old German Shepherd mix. Mary and her husband
Glen adopted Georgia from the Society and were the first to benefit from the Senior for Senior program.
We
currently have a shortage of Cat Can Food and would appreciate any assistance that the
general public can provide. Can food is given to picky eaters, to help give extra calories to thin cats, to help administer medication for sick
cats and to give as a special treat. We are fortunate to receive all our dry cat and dog food donated by Royal Canin
Cat Fosters Parents Needed
The PEIHS currently has a high volume of cats and needs Cat Foster Parents. This would be for a short term basis for cats that we temporarily have
no room to house. We will provide the Cat Foster Parents with food, dishes, blankets, litter and a litter box.
If interested, please
CLICK HERE to fill out the foster application form.
Also, please encourage anyone that is looking to add a cat to their household to make adoption their
first option.
Keep a shelter animal warm this winter…..
The floor at the shelter is cold and a Kuranda bed would give the dogs and cats a warm,
elevated bed to lie on during cold nights. Some of our animals already have beds, but we don’t have enough for everyone. Please consider donating a
Kuranda bed. CLICK HERE to donate or call 1-800-752-5308

Drop off your used Ink or Print cartridges and cell phones at the
P.E.I. Humane Society and the “Think Recycle” program will donate cash to help us help us care for homeless, lost and abandoned animals on the
Island. |
|
Think Recycle is good for the environment because
used cartridges and cell phones can take up to 1000 years to decompose. Thinking green diverts these cartridges and cell phones from landfills
and ensures that they are properly recycled. What's more, for every 12 recyclable cartridges and cell phones collected, Think Recycle will
sponsor the planting of a tree on your behalf through American Forests or
Tree Canada Foundation.
Drop your cartridges and cell phones off at the Shelter at 309
Sherwood Road during regular business hours or contact Lisa Hashie at:
lhashie@peihumanesociety.com
if you would like to have a Think Recycle collection box in support of the P.E.I. Humane Society at your office, business or school.
