Relief Shelter Attendant – $11.00 per hour
The PEIHS is searching for great candidates to join our roster of relief Shelter Attendants. Candidates must be able to work up to an 8 hour shift between 8:30 am and 6 pm Monday to Friday and from 8:30 and 4:30 on Saturday or Sunday. Successful candidates must be able to make themselves available at short notice.
Preference will be given to candidates who have a back ground with work in the field of Animal Care, Behaviour and/or Health fields. Personal experience may also be an asset.
Successful candidates will be able to handle, restrain and possibly lift large and small breed dogs, cats and pets like rabbits, guinea pigs etc. they must be able to complete strenuous, at times fast paced cleaning and physical labour with attention to detail. Relief Animal Protection Officer – $11.50 per hour
The Animal Protection Officer represents the mission and values of the PEI Humane Society in the community. The Officer enforces municipal and provincial laws and bylaws concerning the care, treatment, licensing and impounding of companion animals in areas where the PEI Humane Society has jurisdiction. The Officer conducts investigations and inspections, issues summary offence tickets (SOTs) and warnings, and documents daily activities. The Officer provides after hours on-call emergency services for lost and injured animals on a rotational basis.
